Bronglais Hospital

Contractors: Laing O’Rourke
Drawing on the beauty of Ceredigion and neighbouring landscapes, Catrin created large scale landscape murals for the reception, waiting areas and treatment room, drawing on the route of the river Leri to enhance the patient environment at Bronglais Hospital’s cancer treatment unit.
The centre was officially opened on 10 May 2025 with the hope that the redevelopment of the facility would deliver a modern and welcoming healthcare environment.
The aim of the artwork is to support patients’ well-being by incorporating colours, forms, and imagery that reflects the tranquillity and dependability of nature.
The artwork forms part of the glazed entrance doors, decorative panels and double-glazed units combining ceramic frit printing with laminated safety glass to create a large-scale integrated architectural artwork.
Glass specification: Toughened and laminated glass, various thickness
Techniques used: Screen printing; Transparent enamels; Opaque enamels; Acid etching
“It is wonderful to be a part of this important project that will improve the patient experience for people with cancer for many years to come.”
