The King’s Trust Garden: Seeding Success
Royal Horticultural Society, Chelsea, UK
The gold medal winning garden was designed by Joe Perkins and inspired by nature’s ability to thrive in hostile environments. The glass panels were designed by James Cockerill of HALTglass to portray an artistic representation of seed dispersal.
The panels were produced using a digitally printed laminated film, necessary to achieve the required detail in the final images. The manufacturing possibilities of digital printing are endless as any image or graphic design can be printed with multiple colour and opacity effects creating unique designs with high-definition results.
The final pieces were glazed into a steel pergola type structure manufactured to withstand the elements. The garden will reside at Uxbridge College, West London where it will be maintained by students enrolled on The King’s Trust programme.
